I bet you thought that a ghost really did this Halloween post! Luckily, however, this is not a posting by the un-dead. I had an amazing, yet hectic summer completing some major milestones and self-fulfillment goals in my life including taking the GMAT and running in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon! While this summer has been so rewarding, it is about time I got back to focusing on the things I truly enjoy- including sharing my experiences on this blog! The rest of the year will likely be packing with wedding planning festivities, so I’m looking forward to having the time to capture all of those memories and being able to share them all on this site to look back on as the years continue to fly by!
Now, on to the photos from Halloween 2016! Nicole and I were channeling our DIY side and put together some adorable flower crowns. We also wanted to try a costume in which we painted our faces since that is something we haven’t tried before. Hence, the sugar skull was the perfect costume! I thought they turned out phenomenally, and even Tyler joined in on the face painting fun.
We caught an Uber and headed out to Two Brothers’ Brewery in Aurora who were having a costume party. We had chosen well because the other costumes there were fantastic! My favorite was a women dressed up as “Sharknado”… has to be one of my favorites of all time I think. Josh went as Clark Kent and looked pretty darn cute in his glasses, in my unbiased opinion 😉 !
The DJ was playing old school 80’s and 90’s rap along with the music videos which was a great twist to the usual tunes. We enjoyed some brews and tried to dance along.
We didn’t realize that there would be a costume contest, but the judges must have liked our getup and we won “Best Female Costume”! We collected a ribbon and a gift card to come back and enjoy the brewery again.
While we enjoyed our night of costumes and spookiness, we nevertheless eventually made it back home and began to transform back into ourselves. Our furry friends obviously weren’t being fooled by our disguises!
