So I know that I just posted photos yesterday, but I AM SO EXCITED for these next few last rounds from our trip! Here is a batch of some of my absolute favorites- from Cathedral Cove, New Zealand!
Cathedral Cove is a small beach on the Northeast coast of New Zealand’s north island. It is only accessible via a 35 minute hike or by boat, so it is safe to describe it as cozy and “tucked away”. We happened to go on a day that it was pouring down rain, but even then there was a small crowd there! It actually turned out to be a blessing because we couldn’t imagine how many people would have been there in good weather. We packed up some bread, cheese, fruit and wine for a small picnic and hiked our way down to the beach.
Cathedral Cove and Gemstone Bay are separated by this rock formation which looks like a cathedral archway (hence the name). What a beauty!
After braving the cold waves and crossing into the cove, we found a bunch of rocks stacked on top of each other! Josh decided to join in on the fun. I wonder if ours is still there?
We also met this funny looking bird with a bright orange beak!
What a patient and unsuspecting model Josh can be…
After having my camera out in the rain at the beach, I braved up a bit for the hike back and snapped a few photos. The light was just perfect and so beautiful! We really lucked out I think!
